Homemade Crayon Shapes (Fun Activity For Kids)

Make old crayons new again by melting down old and broken ones into fun new homemade crayon shapes. Great rainy day activity for kids!

Materials

  • Broken Crayons

Tools

  • Baking Sheet
  • Silicone Molds or Cupcake Tin with liners

Instructions

  1. Pre heat oven to 250°.
  2. Collect broken crayons.
  3. Peel paper wrapping off of the crayons.
  4. Sort into like colors or mix colors for tie-dye effect
  5. Place Silicone mold on top of a baking sheet for support.
  6. Break crayons into smaller pieces to fit the size of your molds. Do not over fill exceeding the height of your molds.
  7. Place in the oven to melt for 20 minutes. Check to see if your crayons have fully melted. Some brands need a few minutes longer.
  8. Once melted, let fully cool at room temperature before removing from molds.
  9. After your crayons have cooled, they are ready to be used!
