Welcome to My Home!

I’m Kiersten – wife, mother, nurse, and the hands behind Natural Home Apothecary.

Smiling man wearing a baseball cap and light blue plaid collared shirt sitting next to a red headed woman gazing into the camera.

After a 15-year career in nursing, I felt called to step away from the fast pace of clinical life and lean into something slower and more meaningful.

This little corner of the internet represents everything that happens within the walls of my home – decades of tried-and-true recipes, reliable home remedies, faith-based living, and of all the little things that (over time) turn into wisdom.

To me, this blog is so much more than the content. It’s a reflection of the love, care, and memories I pour into everything that I make for my family and for yours.

My family and I live on a small 2-acre plot on the East End of Long Island, where we raise chickens, grow a good portion of our own food, and fill our home with the kind of meals and remedies that always seem to stand the test of time.

Our home is a vibrant melting pot of Italian-American and Pennsylvania Dutch traditions. This rich heritage influences everything from the food I cook to the remedies I trust and the way my husband and I raise our family.

Things don’t have to look perfect in order to be great

If you browse through the archives, you’ll notice that everything is deeply homemade and not very…polished. This is on purpose.

In a digital ocean of highly polished kitchens, meals, gardens, and McMansion modern farmhouse living, I want you to be reminded that most often, that’s not real life.
