Learn how to make the best homemade whipped cream in your own kitchen from a Hamptons Country Club using only 3 ingredients.

Once you learn how simple it is to make homemade whipped cream, you will never reach for an aerosol can or tub of processed oil whips again.

Most people think that homemade whipped cream requires serious elbow grease, but that’s totally unnecessary.

Hand mixers or standing mixers remove all strenuous efforts to incorporate air into heavy cream to create that fluffy light texture that accompany endless desserts and coffee drinks.

A Tried & True Hamptons Recipe

Years ago, I worked at a Country Club in the Hamptons on Long Island. One benefit of working in the kitchen was observing professional chefs make some of the most outstanding food.

Like a sponge, I absorbed as much information as I could about making delicious staples.

The pastry chef and staff always had this particular staple on hand that accompanied 95% of their desserts – homemade whipped cream.

It always boggled my mind how super fit women who just exhausted all their efforts in tennis tournaments would beeline it to the dessert table for a bowl of berries with a heaping blob of whipped cream on top.

I love sharing this simple homemade whipped cream recipe that is that good with everyone.

Best Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Liter Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1.5 Teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar

Instructions

Use a stand mixer or a hand mixer with the whisk attachment .

Pour heavy cream and vanilla into your bowl and incorporate by running the mixer on low.

Still on low speed, slowly shake the powdered sugar into the liquid to avoid clumps.

Once the sugar is fully incorporated, switch the mixer speed to high. If using a stand mixer – toss a dishtowel overtop to prevent splashing for the first few minutes.

I cannot emphasize this enough – Do not walk away from the mixer and keep an eye on it so you don’t over whip the cream into butter.

At about the 3 minute mark, stop mixing. Lift up the whisk so you can scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula.

Then start mixing again until it becomes fluffy and holds onto the prongs of the whisk attachment.

Serve whipped cream on top of Amish Fresh Strawberry Pie, a bowl of summer berries, or Sunday morning pancakes and waffles.

Storing Homemade Whipped Cream

Store whipped cream in the refrigerator in an air tight container or cover a bowl with plastic wrap.

The cream will keep for up to 5 days so you can definitely make this ahead of time for a party if needed. Simply rewhip on high speed for two minutes if it deflates in storage.
