Make these easy, crispy oven baked chicken wings for the next big game day! You’ll never need another recipe ever again.

If you have been searching for a crispy oven baked chicken wings recipe that are ACTUALLY crispy and don’t turn out soggy or chewy, this is it. Make these once and you’ll never need another recipe.

Make these wings for your next game day, birthday party, cookout, or busy weeknight – they’re that simple!

These wings only require about 15 minutes of actual hands on cooking time making them the perfect meal to feed hungry bellies on nights when we have dance practice, gymnastics, or Mike needs to work late.

I have shared this recipe among friends and family for a few years now and it always turns out with excellent, fool-proof results.

Serve them plain or with this AMAZING homemade buffalo wing sauce. You can adjust the amount of spice to your family’s taste preference.

Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • Family pack of chicken wings (4 to 5lbs)
  • 1.5 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive or avocado oil

Instructions

Mix all of the spices together in a small bowl to form a dry rub blend and set aside.

Pat wings dry with paper towels and place them into a large bowl. You can also use a gallon-sized freezer bag if the wings will fit.

Add the wings, oil, and dry rub seasoning blend.

Massage the wings until evenly distributed, and the wings take on the red color of the paprika.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and place a wire rack on top of a cookie sheet. You can line the pan with foil for easier clean up.

Arrange the wings on the rack skin side up. They can be crowded but need to be in a single layer. The wings will shrink down a bit as they cook.

Bake on the middle rack for 30 minutes. Flip the wings with tongs and cook for another 30 minutes to total one hour.

Depending on how fatty the wings were, you can turn the broiler on high for 3 minutes before you take them out to crisp the skin even further.

How to Serve Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings

Enjoy the wings plain to savor the dry rub blend or toss them in this AMAZING homemade buffalo wing sauce!

Serve with celery and carrot sticks, ranch, and bleu cheese.

Great for Party Prep!

If you’re prepping for a party, you can dry rub the wings a day or two before cooking and leave in the refrigerator in an air-tight container.

Reheat any leftover cooked wings in the oven at 350F on a cooking rack until hot.
