  • Cook Time: 3 hours
  • Broil Time: 4 minutes
  • Serves: 8-10 people

Kitchen Supplies You May Need:

  • Sheet Pan
  • Sharp knife
  • Aluminum Foil
  • 2 Small Mixing Bowls
  • Basting Brush

Oven Baked Ribs Ingredients

  • 2 Extra Meaty Pork Ribs

Dry Rub:

  • 1/4 Cup Paprika
  • 1/3 Cup and 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Black Pepper
  • 4 Teaspoons Course Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Cumin
  • 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Dry Ground Mustard

Glazed BBQ Sauce

  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup and 1 Tablespoon Honey

How to Make Oven Baked Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°.

Rip 4 equal pieces of aluminum foil that are the length of your sheet pan. Make two piles of two of aluminum foil and lay a rack of ribs on each aluminum foil pile.

Flip the ribs over so the meat side is down and the bone side is facing upward.

Notice the see-through membrane that covers the back side of the ribs. Remove this by peeling up the edge. Then, holding it with your fingers or a paper towel, pull it right off.

Next, Make & Apply the Dry Rub

In one bowl, mix your dry rub ingredients until evenly combined. If your brown sugar is clumpy, break up those pieces.

Rub the dry rub onto the backs of the ribs until evenly coated. Then flip over and repeat the same on the meat side.

When cooking the ribs, make sure that the bone side is facing down. To keep the moisture of the ribs intact, cover them tightly with foil.

Fold over the ribs on the short sides and bring the long sides together so that they touch each other.

Then, fold the ends down together to seal the foil. This will ensure that the juices and moisture stay locked in while the ribs slow cook.

Lastly, inspect the sides carefully to make sure that there are no holes or openings in the foil.

Lay your ribs side by side on your sheet pan and place them in your oven for 3 hours.

Homemade Glazed BBQ Sauce

In the second bowl, mix up your homemade glazed BBQ sauce ingredients – brown sugar and honey. Cover and let that sit.

When the 3 hours are up, take the ribs out and carefully open the foil packs. There will be steam inside ready to escape.

Bend the sides of the foil enough away so that you can fully paint the ribs with the sauce.  Then place on the lowest rack and broil for 4 minutes.

Once complete, remove from the oven and slice between the bones. Plate up and serve!
